Brian Anderson - Bluegrass Chaplain

brian@christianbluegrassassociation.com

Brian began playing the 5-string banjo at age 17. By the time he was 19, he was playing professionally in a full-time gospel bluegrass band called Gloryland, touring the Western United States. After his stint with Gloryland, Brian became very involved in raising a family and Christian ministry, and so for the next twenty years laid his music aside. However, in 2001 Brian and his family moved to Sonora, California where he found more time to pursue his love for the 5-string banjo. Brian has won several local banjo contests, including the Rockygrass Banjo Contest in Lyons, Colorado in 2006, as well as the prestigious National Banjo Championship in Winfield, Kansas in 2005. He and his son, Jonathan, recorded an album comprised of original banjo and guitar tunes in 2006 entitled, "Brian Anderson and the New Generation."

Brian's greatest love, however, is the Lord Jesus Christ. Brian spent 10 years pastoring a non-denominational Bible church in Milpitas, California. Since 2001 he has been involved in house churches in the Sonora, California area. He enjoys reading, studying, and teaching the Scriptures. Currently he owns and operates a window and gutter cleaning business. He has been married to his sweetheart, Debbie, since 1981, and has a son, Jonathan.
